Our award-winning pre-professional company has been setting the standard in our area for over twenty years. Based on the principles of discipline, professionalism, commitment, and community, our dancers learn to excel not only as artists, but as young adults. Last year alone we helped raise $17,000 for AIDS research as part of Dancers Unite for Life.
Alumni of the company have gone on to study dance at NYU, Point Park University, Montclair State, University of the Arts, and many more! They have performed as Radio City Rockettes, on professional dance teams and cruise ships, on television, and in theatre all across the country. Many alumni have gone on to open their own dance schools and become accomplished teachers and choreographers. We pride ourselves on providing all of the tools necessary for the serious dancer to pursue whatever sort of career they choose to upon graduating.
The curriculum and faculty offered to our pre-professional dancers is second to none in the area. A strong ballet base is an essential part of their training as well as one of the leading tap programs in New Jersey! Dancers learn from top New York and LA choreographers and take acting workshops from leading talent scouts and agents. It is not unusual for a student to be pulled right from the classroom and sent to work on a Nickelodeon TV episode or a Broadway National Tour!
Competition is one aspect of being a company member, and is used as a tool to motivate and increase self-confidence. Dance conventions are an excellent way not only to meet other dancers from around the area but to take classes from some of the best instructors from around the world. The benefits of these experiences enhance the students' curriculum and the memories that they share last a lifetime.
